Manager, Software Engineering
Summary:
See the big picture as a people manager supporting Saver’s donation and store management products. Partner with Solutions Management and Enterprise Architecture teams to identify standards, analyze technology trends to develop a product roadmap that will allow Savers to meet its goals. Serve as technology platform subject matter expert. Have a strong “customer first” perspective in thinking about what technology services and products would delight and make a business impact. Ability to work well with others, motivate other team members, and thrive in a dynamic and challenging work environment. Able to set goals and achieve scheduled deadlines. This role reports to the Sr. Director Software Engineering.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead technical delivery of programs and projects across enterprise IT portfolio.
- Gain detailed existing product functionality and architecture knowledge and down the roadmap and drive the evolution to a service-oriented architecture.
- Analyze internal development process and make recommendations for changes.
- Be a champion of continuous delivery culture within the team and cross-functionally with other technical teams (infrastructure, release management, BI etc.) across Savers.
- Demonstrates the ability to translate design document elements into application code and active participation in code and design reviews
- Mentor less experienced engineers

- An engineer that can look at a wide range of technical problems and make decisions and provide recommendations to the team.

- Experienced in software design, tools, and continuous delivery development process in an agile environment
- Experience working as an individual contributor in Service Oriented Architectures, micro-services and event driven architectures
- Successful past delivery of products hosted in public cloud e.g., AWS, Azure etc.
- Hands-on application development using the following: C#, ASP.NET, XML, SOAP, Web Services and JavaScript using .NET Framework; Relational Database Design; Microsoft SQL Server; SQL Server triggers/stored procedures using T-SQL; SQL Server Reporting Services
Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
- Minimum 5+ years enterprise IT enterprise architecture experience that includes hands-on software development, DevOps engineering, or systems architecture.
- 5+ years of hands-on application development using the following: C#, ASP.NET, XML, SOAP, Web Services and JavaScript using .NET Framework; Relational Database Design; Microsoft SQL Server; SQL Server triggers/stored procedures using T-SQL; SQL Server Reporting Services
- People management & hiring responsibilities
- Experienced in software design, tools, and continuous delivery development process in an agile environment
- Experience working as an individual contributor in Service Oriented Architectures, micro-services and event driven architectures
- Successful past delivery of products hosted in public cloud e.g., AWS, Azure etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Business / Retail Operations background preferred.

Salary Range: $121,526 to $182,288
