Senior Compensation Analyst

 

Summary:

Savers is a dynamic and successful global for-profit thrift retailer and recycler with over 22,000 employees in the US, Canada and Australia. This position plays a key role supporting the Savers vision through competitive and compelling base and incentive pay plans.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate to build, maintain and communicate competitive and accurate pay structures in compliance with company policy and legislation
  • Lead administration of incentive pay plans, define and improve best practices to ensure timely and accurate calculations, including collaboration with Finance, Payroll and Accounting
  • Update compensation systems, review, research and approve compensation requests through Oracle system and through email as needed
  • Perform job analysis and job pricing for all levels of the organization
  • Perform scheduled and ad-hoc data audits
  • Complete market salary surveys
  • Participate in the annual merit increase administration using Oracle Compensation Workbench
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting
  • Provide effective communication and plan documentation to build understanding of compensation programs across the organization
  • Work in close collaboration with Finance, Accounting, HR and Management on the thoughtful execution of all tasks
  • Participate in special projects as needed

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 

  • Working knowledge global compensation laws and practices, including job analysis, job description development, market pricing, pay scale development and incentive pay programs, with a focus in the US, Canada and Australia.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Zoom and Outlook
  • Passionately detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Advanced experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Experience using financial data, budgets and variance analysis from finance and accounting
  • Proven mathematical and statistical skills
  • Proven planning and organization skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to set priorities, make decisions and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong collaboration skills as well as ability to work independently
  • Proven customer service skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information
  • Ability to change direction and approach as needed due to changing business needs
  • Ability to work within Savers culture
  • The list can include skills such as high attention to detail, and strong verbal communication skills


Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field; or a combination of education and experience that yields the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • 5-7 years progressively responsible compensation, financial, accounting or related work experience  
  • Prefer: experience working with 10,000+ employees, or in a thrift/retail, or multi-unit environment
  • Prefer:  Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or other similar level certification

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Ability to receive detailed information visually through written communication (both physical and electronic).

 

FLSA Status: Exempt salaried

Travel: No travel is required
