Job Description

ASM Enterprise Engineer

 Summary:

The Enterprise Application Services team is looking for a systems administrator that understands the value of DevOps and knows the importance of owning their “stuff”. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience working in a hybrid-cloud environment with a variety of applications, including custom web applications and COTS applications. They would be joining a team that serves as the protector of Savers’ critical business systems that support hundreds of retail stores and thousands of employees. This includes application installation and deployment, system configuration, application monitoring, and tier 2/3 application support.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Participate in on-call support rotation, respond and coordinate support activities in a timely manner
  • Resolve systems incident tickets to restore services in a timely manner
  • Administer and maintain policies and procedures for ensuring the availability, security and integrity of business systems
  • Build proactive monitoring and alerting to identify issues before our stakeholders do
  • Administer change control processes and maintain software release levels and system design documentation for all environments for each application
  • Install, upgrade and configure systems as required, often during non-business hours (possibly some nights/weekends)
  • Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure supportable solutions are produced
  • Assists in providing solutions to issues in all areas of technology related to systems.
  • Identifies and initiates changes that continually improve a positive open team environment.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve systems health and performance issues
  • Create and maintain system-related and auditable documentation, such as business requirements, user guides and process flow
  • Create and update operational document and support knowledge articles

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 

  • Cloud administration, Azure preferred
  • Windows Server Administration
  • Some Linux experience wouldn’t hurt
  • Networking knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Relational databases and client-server systems
  • Scripting and automation experience is a big plus

 


Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • Technology focused degree and/or certifications preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Ability to receive detailed information visually through written communication (both physical and electronic).
