Summary:

The Store Planning & Development Supervisor supports Savers’ vision by assisting in the planning, scheduling, and execution of Capital Projects.  The supervisor provides guidance and leadership to the team of Store Planning & Development Coordinators.  Develops process and project training materials.  This job supports the Store Planning & Development department and contributes to the overall success of the Construction/Store Planning/Purchasing/Property/Store Set-Up teams. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Construction.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise a team of Store Planning & Development Coordinators.
  • Coordinates the tracking of all Capital Projects which include New Stores, Store Relocations, Store Expansions, Remodels, Retrofits, and Refreshes.
  • Coordinate Expesite and Lucernex project management systems with other department leads.
  • Coordinate Project contracts, Vendor contracts, payments, and closeout process.
  • Manage the department SharePoint, Share Drive, and the external Project Management site.
  • Assist with coordination and tracking of construction and fixture set-up.
  • Prepare, file, and communicate Purchase Orders for submission to accounting.
  • Track budgets in project management software as well as ensure all project related documents are uploaded.
  • Create, communicate, and distribute capital project timelines and project information.
  • Assist in the creation of department manuals utilized for New Store Openings, General Contractors, and Vendors.
  • Assures accurate reporting of all assigned capital projects.
  • Participate in and perform special store projects as assigned.

 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Detail focused and organized toward completing projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to independently set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn and utilize various Global software solutions (Expesite, FM Pilot, Microsoft D365).
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of the team.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to professionally respond to common inquiries from related vendors and building officials.              
  • Ability to professionally and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and general contractors.

 

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with retail store construction coordination and communication.


Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • Associates degree in business preferred, construction management, computer science, supply chain management, logistics or related field, or a combination of education and experience that would yield the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience in purchasing or procurement.
  • Experience with a construction, store fixture set up, or retail development vendor.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Ability to receive detailed information visually through written communication (both physical and electronic).
