Job Description

QA Analyst - Bellevue, WA or Boise, ID

Summary:

Supports Savers vision by ensuring the stability and quality of tested releases focusing on testing for high quality releases consisting of applications, functionality, security, availability and optimization. The QA Test Analyst will be responsible for documenting and facilitating QA standards and processes for QA, UAT and Production releases. The QA Analyst Job function works collaboratively with Dev and project participants in software development, retail implementation and Web and cloud-based Dev projects and is supportive of developers, administrators, and testers as they set up their build dev/test plans. This position reports to the Manager Quality Assurance.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Analyze and understand software requirements; ensure Business and Functional 
  • Develops test plans and strategies, use cases, test scripts and defect reports using QA standard methodologies.
  • Perform manual and automated testing on internal and third-party applications SAVERS uses in the normal course of business (i.e., Fujitsu POS, Global Store, Desktop Apps/ Cloud base Azure apps/mobile apps, Web portals etc.) to ensure all features are working exactly as expected.
  • Supports the Systems’ Test and lab Environments.
  • Compiles and communicates present test status and summaries to QA Lead, Project Manager and Retail Systems Group Manager.
  • Analyze test results to help identify additional software defects and or incomplete/inadequate tests.
  • Perform ad hoc and exploratory testing beyond those tests documented in formal test cases/scripts.
  • Lead the Test Phase; manage additional internal and external test resources as required.
  • Provides support for QA release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
  • Communicate all key QA project test plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, schedule, and scope changes
  • Produce or Coordinate the production of Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans
  • Work with QA Lead and IT or project teams, understand test requirements to ensure appropriate understanding and quality assurance are applied on releases
  • Working knowledge of QA automation strategies.
  • Support and execute QA activities including the execution of the QA Plans and QA checklists.
  • Review scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms
  • Keep current on QA test software and automation enhancements to add QA efficiencies
  • Provides documentation and input into knowledge base articles for QA, Service Desk and team associates.
  • Maintains the QA documentation database for all Bug reported and assigned QA incidents with stated problems, status and resolutions
  • Informs management about QA test system problems that are considered out of the ordinary rhythm of the business

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 

  • Experience in QA processes, Test plan and script creation and administration management.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with QA strategy, methodology, processes, tools and deliverables
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD/DevOps/QA concepts, tools and technologies - Test Complete, Jira, VSTS, VS Online, Azure, SQL,
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics or something similar
  • Experience in both waterfall and agile SDLC methodologies (preferred).


Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field equivalent or combination of education and work experience
  • 2-4 years performing of QA technical experience and processes

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication, and to make discriminations in sound.
  • Ability to receive detailed information visually through written communication (both physical and electronic).
