Job Description

Training Specialist - IT

Summary:

The IT Training Specialist supports the successful implementation and usage of Savers technology by developing end-user documentation, communication, and training. This role reports to the Director of Learning & Development.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Documents system functionality and usage in the clearest and most logical way possible to support end users.
  • Collaborates with subject-matter experts in both IT and operations to identify skills gaps and ensure accuracy and usability of systems documentation and training.
  • Designs engaging end-user communications and training content for online, virtual, in in-person delivery.
  • Collaborates with e-learning specialist to produce engaging online courses.
  • Updates and maintains end-user documentation and training regularly in Savers intranet and learning management system.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning theory and training methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Demonstrated organization skills.
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work within Savers culture.


 

Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in IT-related training and/or technical writing
  • Certification in training (e.g. Certified Technical Trainer) is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Articulate Storyline and RISE also a plus

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Possess dexterity for complex hand-eye tasks, including keyboarding, writing on documents/forms
  • Frequently required to read written and electronic documents.
  • Continuously needs to hear and verbally communicate in order to interact with and respond to management, team members and other colleagues. Will need to hear requests in person and via and telephone.

 

FLSA Status

 

  • Exempt

  • Laptop or desktop computer, phone, copy machine, etc.
  • Software (MS Office, Kronos, Concur, intranet)

 

Travel:

 

  • 5% or less for periodic team or project meetings
